Bowling Green, KY, October 8, 2026 — Western Kentucky University’s men’s basketball program has been predicted to win Conference USA (CUSA) for the upcoming 2026-27 season. The announcement came as part of the league’s preseason poll, which also recognized key players from the Hilltoppers squad for their anticipated performance.

Redshirt junior guard Teagan Moore was a standout selection, earning the distinction of CUSA Preseason Player of the Year. This accolade suggests high expectations for Moore’s contributions throughout the season.

In addition to Moore’s individual honor, both he and sophomore guard Armelo Boone were named to the All-CUSA Preseason Team. This dual recognition for Moore and Boone highlights their importance to the team’s outlook and reinforces the program’s potential for success in the conference.

The preseason poll and team selections are based on voting by head coaches, a common practice in collegiate athletics to gauge team and player expectations prior to the start of the regular season. Further details regarding the specific voting margins or other teams and players receiving votes were not provided in the summary.

The Hilltoppers will aim to meet these preseason expectations as they prepare for the 2026-27 basketball schedule. The full list of conference opponents and game dates for the upcoming season is expected to be released at a later time. The selections indicate a strong belief in the current roster’s ability to compete at the highest level within Conference USA.
