Voice AI leaves Beta and is generally available, carrying live customer conversations rather than a pilot. It runs on the same platform and the same AI Agents as Pypestream’s chat deployments, which have handled more than 2.5 billion interactions.

NEW YORK CITY, NY / ACCESS Newswire / October 28, 2026 / Pypestream, which builds AI agents that finish the job for Fortune-class enterprises, today announced that its Voice AI is generally available and running in production for quick service restaurant brands. Pypestream introduced Voice AI as a Beta channel on November 11, 2025.

The brands use Voice AI to carry live customer conversations, in production and not in a pilot. Pypestream took one brand’s national guest line from brief to live in four weeks.

Voice AI runs on the same platform and the same AI Agents as Pypestream’s chat deployments, which have handled more than 2.5 billion interactions and resolve roughly nine in ten requests end to end without a person. A voice agent inherits that work. The same integrations into systems of record, the same guardrails and the same escalation path. An enterprise adding voice is extending agents it already runs, not starting a second program.

“When we introduced Voice AI November 2025, we said voice remains a necessary touchpoint for many customers and that we intended to meet them there. Since then, brands have put it to work on real customer conversations. Because it runs on the same platform as our chat AI Agents, those brands manage voice and chat from one place,” said Nick Hockler, President and Chief Operating Officer at Pypestream.

When Voice AI cannot complete a call, client-defined guardrails decide the path, from redirecting to the right flow to escalating to a live person when human judgment is needed. When that person steps in, they receive the full conversation, verified details and reason for the call, and the customer reaches the right team or team member without repeating themselves.

Voice AI combines speech recognition, sentiment analysis and conversational context so callers can say what they need and move through a request without working through menu trees. It is built natively on Pypestream’s platform, which lets a brand run voice, chat and headless agents from one set of AI Agents, one data layer and one embedded analytics view.

“Moving from Beta to production meant showing that Voice AI performs inside real workflows with the governance our enterprise customers require,” said Elana Feldman, Chief AI Officer at Pypestream.

When Pypestream introduced Voice AI, it described four outcomes enterprises can expect from adding voice to their customer engagement strategy, which are revenue, efficiency, satisfaction, and trust.
