For the second year in a row, Midnight is scheduled to fly both days of the air show, joining a lineup that includes the United States Air Force Thunderbirds, Goulian Aerosports, and performances by iconic aircraft including the MiG-17, T-33, and A-37 Dragonfly.

As Archer’s flight test base since 2021, Salinas is the hometown stop on the ‘No Roads’ tour. Hundreds of Archer team members from engineering, operations, and flight test are expected on site to celebrate with the community before the flight tour continues to larger cities in the Bay Area.

This year’s air show follows the recent expansion of Archer’s city-to-city flight test program with the launch of its ‘No Roads’ Tour. Featuring routes that can take an hour or more by car, but just 10–20 minutes in Midnight, the tour will showcase the benefits of all-electric air taxis to local communities: low noise, zero operating emissions, and the ability to skip over traffic.

On Sept. 4th, Midnight completed the tour’s first stop with a piloted roundtrip journey between Salinas Municipal Airport and Hollister Municipal Airport. The trip covered more than 40 miles, reaching speeds of 125 mph and a cruise altitude of 3,550 feet, with each leg taking roughly 12 minutes — a drive that can take 40 minutes or more by car.

After Midnight’s public flights at the air show, Archer’s ‘No Roads’ tour will continue on in Northern California with planned flights to San Martin, San Jose, Oakland and San Francisco before moving on to the Los Angeles area, Texas and Florida.

Archer’s goal with its Midnight aircraft is to transform urban travel, replacing 60–90 minute commutes with quiet, all-electric flights that dramatically reduce travel times compared to traditional ground transportation. Archer’s all-electric Midnight air taxi is designed around the urban air mobility use case with the ability to conduct rapid back-to-back flights with zero operating emissions.
