Eve, the AI operating system for plaintiff law firms, today announced plans to expand the research sources available through Eve Research, including support for clinical decision-support resource UpToDate, alongside customer results demonstrating its impact.
Unlike standalone research tools, Eve Research starts with an understanding of the case itself, connecting relevant sources to the facts, documents, and questions attorneys are already working through. Included with Eve at no additional cost, it brings research directly into casework, with citations linked to original sources for easy verification.
At Shaw Legal Solutions, Eve Research helped the firm build a demand supported by medical literature, resulting in a policy-limits offer within just a few weeks.
“We were able to go to the insurance company with a well reasoned demand, but also including some PubMed articles that Eve went out and pulled in that really supported our position,” said Steven Shaw, owner. “Because we were able to fast track everything and really put together a beefy demand we got a policy limits offer in a couple weeks. Which is, unusual.”
Since becoming available to all customers in June, Eve Research has seen rapid adoption:
- 85% of paying firms have used Eve Research, with 72% using it in September.
- Firms conduct approximately 5,000 research conversations each week.
- 89% of research conversations draw on sources beyond case law, including medical literature, statutes, regulations, academic research, and business filings.
The adoption of Eve Research comes amid broader growth across the Eve platform. Eve recently announced that more than 350,000 plaintiff cases now run on Eve, up 75% since June, across nearly 2,000 firms and 15,000 legal professionals.
“Attorneys don’t need more places to look for answers. They need the right intelligence at the moment they’re making decisions or taking actions within a case,” said Matt Noe, Eve co-founder and Chief Product Officer. “That’s what we’re building with Eve Research. By connecting legal research, medical literature, and other critical sources directly to the case, we’re helping firms spend less time searching for information and more time using it to move their cases forward.”
Research built around the case
Eve Research draws on U.S. case law sourced directly from more than 2,000 federal and state courts, with new opinions typically available within 4 to 10 hours of being posted by the court. Attorneys can review full-text opinions and verify citations without leaving Eve.
Eve is expanding the range of trusted sources available to attorneys, including planned support for UpToDate, a clinical decision-support resource. Future additions like this will build on Eve’s existing access to medical literature, regulations, business filings, and academic research, bringing more of the information attorneys rely on directly into their casework.
Attorneys are also putting that research to work in their drafting. “It helps me write motions inline, like, brilliant ones. Then, I go through and I check it, but overall Eve does phenomenally well,” said Chadwick McGrady of the Law Office of Chadwick McGrady, P.C.
At Bell Law, Eve Research is also helping teams spend less time tracking down procedural requirements, court forms, and filing instructions. “The research function has helped a lot in terms of being able to be more on top of things like requirements or standing orders or the physical processes of how to do something,” said Matthew Jones, legal intelligence specialist at Bell Law.
Available to all Eve customers
Eve Research is available now to all Eve customers at no additional cost. Firm administrators can enable it in Settings > Research and customize collections of public sources their teams regularly use.
The case law database covers federal district and appellate courts and state appellate courts, but does not yet include state trial court opinions or secondary sources such as treatises. Eve recommends independently verifying citations before filing. Learn more at eve.legal.
